You’re not alone.
Many people identify perfume as a part of their personality. Whatever the case, fragrance plays a significant role in our lives.
So what do you do when you find out your signature scent may be compromising your health?
At Credo, we’re passionate about finding the cleanest luxury fragrances and beauty products made without compromise in quality. Before we share a selection of our favorites and recommend how to choose your perfect scent, we want to share why we believe switching to a natural perfume is in your best interest:
1. Conventional fragrances can trigger asthma, migraines, and exacerbate eczema.
2. There are 10,000 approved synthetics in conventional perfume making. 95% of what you find in even the most expensive bottles are synthetic compounds designed to mimic an original. Some synthetics have been found in breast milk and ocean life because they do not decompose.
3. Chemical extenders that keep conventional fragrance on your skin can interfere with your endocrine system and hormone health.
4. Luxury natural perfumes use essentials oils and hydrosols that are proven to improve mood and health.
Choosing Your Signature Scent
Wendi & Anne’s recommendations for how to wear natural perfumes? Choose the approach that fits your personality:
Wendi: You don’t need to limit yourself. Natural fragrances do not contain chemical extenders, so you can spray them all over: in your hair, on your pulse points, over your clothes. They won’t overwhelm you or anyone who shares an elevator with you.
Anne: Use body oil instead of lotion; preservatives in lotion can break down perfume. Apply a few drops to each of the warmest parts of your body: wrists and inside of elbows, lower belly and back, sides and back of neck, knees and ankles. Layer and reapply throughout the day.
