By Joshua Pierce, Head of Education at CredoHoliday makeup is here! Time to break out the shimmery eye shadows, ruby red lipstick, glowing illuminators and blush.
I love holiday makeup looks because it’s a perfect opportunity to try out new things. So many of my clients have wanted to wear that daring red lip but have struggled with feeling comfortable in it. They’ve wanted to turn heads with a pop of shimmery shadow on their eyes but were worried it was too “nighttime”. Well, throw all that worry out the window, because I have some pro tips for some of our most exciting holiday makeup must-haves that will make wearing daring makeup much more palatable.
HOLIDAY MAKEUP MUST-HAVES:
If you’re the kind of person who likes to wear a more “natural makeup” then the lips are your moment to really make a statement. A fun, bold lip looks fantastic with eyeshadow that’s more scaled down and subdued. This red lip from La Bouche Rouge can be applied to full opacity or tapped on lightly and rubbed in for more of a stained effect. Fully fill in your lip with a matte lip pencil before applying the lipstick to provide more “stay power”.
EYESTood Beauty has BURST onto the makeup scene with a line of Bioglitters that will get the attention of everyone at your holiday party. These jars of sparkle magic can be worn anywhere on the face. I recommend using their brush to coat your eyelids with them to give a flash of brilliance every time you blink your eyes.
CHEEKSBy now you should know that I fully embrace “multi use products”. It’s so much easier to have one product that can do several different things. Check out Live Tinted HueStick Multistick. You can keep it in your pocket to quickly apply to your lips as a touchup. OR pop a little on the cheeks for a boost of color! Their shade range is truly inclusive to all skin tones and every shade lays beautifully on the skin.
COMPLEXIONExa Beauty is the ultimate complexion product. Its versatility in coverage makes it an excellent foundation for any skin type. Not only that, you can also use it as your concealer by placing it just on the areas you want coverage (ie, under eyes/blemishes). To add a candlelit glow to any skin tone, you can add a touch of Exa Lightshow in BFF to the tops of your cheekbones.
