Swipe on after shower and anytime in the as needed. The scent is so amazingly fresh you may find yourself swiping it on your pulse points as well.

It is important to note that this is a deodorant, not an antiperspirant. You need your pits to sweat to get rid of toxins. It really feels good! If you are making the switch from conventional deodorants (yay!), you will most likely go through a detox period. Your pits will thank you! For most people this detox lasts 1-4 weeks, and you may have a couple days where you swear you have an odor. This is good as it means your body is adjusting. So, go for it and soon you will feel SO much better and healthier.

Essential Oils

Essential Oils

Authentic essential oils are physically extracted by steam or expression (cold pressing) of the skin of the fruit. Essential oils have not been chemically altered (via reaction, solvent extraction) from their natural state.

Certified Organic Fragrance

Certified Organic Fragrance

A blend of essential oils (see above) derived from plants that are grown in accordance with the USDA National Organic Program.

Natural Fragrance

Natural Fragrance

Natural fragrances are mixtures of aromatic raw materials. As opposed to a whole essential oil found in a plant, these chemicals are physically isolated from natural compounds, then blended together to create a scent. If only natural isolates are used, companies can declare the scent “natural.”

Naturally-Derived Fragrance

Naturally-Derived Fragrance

Fragrance ingredients that have been extracted using solvents (alcohol, petrochemicals, vegetable oils), or extracted by fermentation, or ingredients which may have a natural component but have been significantly processed.

Synthetic Fragrance

Unfragranced/Unscented

Ingredients which are new molecules, made in a laboratory. The majority of synthetic constituent ingredients are from petroleum byproducts. Synthetic “nature-identical” ingredients fall into this category as well. Credo allows synthetic fragrances as long as there are no Dirty List components.

What's Behind "Fragrance"?

US law does not require that companies be transparent about the ingredients in fragrance/parfum. Credo believes in your right-to-know. We require all brands to categorize the fragrance in each product (see chart above), and encourage brands to fully disclose all scent ingredients.

All products are cruelty-free and formulated without ingredients on The Dirty List™️. At Credo, "clean" goes even deeper. Learn more.

Violets Are Blue Founder, Cynthia Besteman- “My Breast Cancer diagnosis, which came out of the blue, and made me realize it doesn't matter what you put in your body, if what you put on it is toxic!  I made my own products during my treatment and then met women who didn't have the ability to make their own, or the energy to sit in drug stores and read the back of labels. That is when I realized I wanted to make a clean beauty brand that gave back to women with cancer.” Cynthia started the line in 2013 by searching out the best oils, butters, and herbs to solve for dry skin. The beautiful line is made up of natural products designed to alleviate skin concerns and bring lasting moisture to your skin.

Cynthia and the Violets are Blue team donates a set of products to each woman as they begin their treatment at New York City’s Mount Sinai Hospital.
