Améline Eau de Parfum

This Product Is: a clean, unisex fragrance with notes of rose, Italian bergamot and pink pepper

Why We Love it: PHLUR Améline gives off a statement of feminine intelligence, grace and glamour. A clever new concept of a rose, Améline owes its unique and complex presence to notes of rose (of course), sparkling top notes of Italian bergamot, plus pink pepper and hints of patchouli and sandalwood. This natural fragrance can be worn by a man, but only by those who want a lot of compliments.

Notes Profile:

Top: Italian Bergamot
Mid: Rose, Pink Pepper
Bottom: Patchouli, Sandalwood

Radical Fragrance Transparency. This means the fragrance ingredients are fully disclosed to you (not hidden behind the word "fragrance", which is the norm). Here’s what’s in it.

This fragrance is comprised of (Click on a fragrance category for more info):

Essential Oils

x

Essential Oils

Authentic essential oils are physically extracted by steam or expression (cold pressing) of the skin of the fruit. Essential oils have not been chemically altered (via reaction, solvent extraction) from their natural state.

Certified Organic Fragrance

x

Certified Organic Fragrance

A blend of essential oils (see above) derived from plants that are grown in accordance with the USDA National Organic Program.

Natural Fragrance

x

Natural Fragrance

Natural fragrances are mixtures of aromatic raw materials. As opposed to a whole essential oil found in a plant, these chemicals are physically isolated from natural compounds, then blended together to create a scent. If only natural isolates are used, companies can declare the scent “natural.”

Naturally-Derived Fragrance

x

Naturally-Derived Fragrance

Fragrance ingredients that have been extracted using solvents (alcohol, petrochemicals, vegetable oils), or extracted by fermentation, or ingredients which may have a natural component but have been significantly processed.

Synthetic Fragrance

x

Unfragranced/Unscented

Ingredients which are new molecules, made in a laboratory. The majority of synthetic constituent ingredients are from petroleum byproducts. Synthetic “nature-identical” ingredients fall into this category as well. Credo allows synthetic fragrances as long as there are no Dirty List components.

What's Behind "Fragrance"?

US law does not require that companies be transparent about the ingredients in fragrance/parfum. Credo believes in your right-to-know. We require all brands to categorize the fragrance in each product (see chart above), and encourage brands to fully disclose all scent ingredients.

All products are cruelty-free and formulated without ingredients on our The Dirty List™️. At Credo, "clean" goes even deeper. Learn more.

About the brand

The PHLUR co-founder and CEO, Eric Korman, was an executive at Ralph Lauren, and co-founder, Cynthia Korman, was an established art director, when they became fascinated with fragrance—not just as a product, but as an industry. Why had so little changed over the years? You had, on the one hand, poorly produced licensed products that had the name of a celebrity or fashion designer slapped on the packaging. And on the other, you had these incredible boutique fragrances that the average person could never afford or, in some cases, find outside of a few major markets. (And on both sides, you had an industry overly dependent on sex to sell itself.) There wasn’t a middle path—a luxuriously-made fine fragrance, sold at an honest price, and marketed without the misogynistic imagery. The pair set out to change that, and in 2015 they did by creating PHLUR.
