VERSES Fragrance Layering Set
This Product Is: a 6-piece layering set of Ellis Brooklyn fragrances
Why We Love It: Ellis Brooklyn VERSES Fragrance Layering Set puts the power of fragrance layering in your hands. The VERSES kit has been inspired by the world's greatest music festivals, and contains 3 best-selling eau de parfums (Myth, Rrose, Fawn) and 3 natural single notes (Palo Santo, Tonka, Patchouli). Like chords in a song, fragrance is based off of 3-note accords. Create your own scent symphony with your own unique combinations.
Spritz on pulse points and layer as desired. Perfumer's tip: layer from stronger to lighter scent. For one, spritz the woody note of Palo Santo first and layer the beautiful floral-musk MYTH on top.

Authentic essential oils are physically extracted by steam or expression (cold pressing) of the skin of the fruit. Essential oils have not been chemically altered (via reaction, solvent extraction) from their natural state.
Certified Organic Fragrance
A blend of essential oils (see above) derived from plants that are grown in accordance with the USDA National Organic Program.
Natural Fragrance
Natural fragrances are mixtures of aromatic raw materials. As opposed to a whole essential oil found in a plant, these chemicals are physically isolated from natural compounds, then blended together to create a scent. If only natural isolates are used, companies can declare the scent “natural.”
Naturally-Derived Fragrance
Fragrance ingredients that have been extracted using solvents (alcohol, petrochemicals, vegetable oils), or extracted by fermentation, or ingredients which may have a natural component but have been significantly processed.
Unfragranced/Unscented
Ingredients which are new molecules, made in a laboratory. The majority of synthetic constituent ingredients are from petroleum byproducts. Synthetic “nature-identical” ingredients fall into this category as well. Credo allows synthetic fragrances as long as there are no Dirty List components.
What's Behind "Fragrance"?
US law does not require that companies be transparent about the ingredients in fragrance/parfum. Credo believes in your right-to-know. We require all brands to categorize the fragrance in each product (see chart above), and encourage brands to fully disclose all scent ingredients.

All products are cruelty-free and formulated without ingredients on The Dirty List™️. At Credo, "clean" goes even deeper. Learn more.
Ellis Brooklyn was founded by Bee Shapiro, a New York Times beauty columnist, who started the line after her daughter, Ellis, was born and began looking for a nice fragrance that contained a non-toxic formula. The line was named Ellis Brooklyn, which brings together the beautiful creation of renowned perfumer Jerome Epinette with the natural formulas made in upstate New York. Each whiff and breath makes you swoon.
