If only natural isolates are used, companies can declare the scent “natural.” |
Naturally-Derived Fragrance
Naturally-Derived FragranceFragrance ingredients that have been extracted using solvents (alcohol, petrochemicals, vegetable oils), or extracted by fermentation, or ingredients which may have a natural component but have been significantly processed. |
Synthetic Fragrance

Synthetic “nature-identical” ingredients fall into this category as well. Credo allows synthetic fragrances as long as there are no Dirty List components. |

What's Behind "Fragrance"?
US law does not require that companies be transparent about the ingredients in fragrance/parfum. Credo believes in your right-to-know. We require all brands to categorize the fragrance in each product (see chart above), and encourage brands to fully disclose all scent ingredients.

All products are cruelty-free and formulated without ingredients on The Dirty List™️. At Credo, "clean" goes even deeper. Learn more.
