An undertone is the color beneath the surface of your skin, which never changes (even with a tan). There are three types of undertones:

Pink/Cool

I see red or pink undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin burns easily, but barely tans.
My skin looks better in silver jewelry than gold.

Neutral

I see both pink and yellow undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin sometimes burns and sometimes tans.

Yellow/Warm

I see yellow or golden undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.

Excellent for my needs

"I got this to help keep the bounce in my very long (all the way down my back), thick, wavy hair. It's not sticky or tacky, and through I don't wash my hair everyday, it doesn't weigh it down or make it dull. I've found it's particularly excellent in sustaining the volume in my bangs, but doesn't do much for the rest of it (which really shouldn't have come as a surprise). It's probably most effective for those with shorter hair. I got the smaller size, which should last me a while since I'm just using it on my bangs."

"I followed the instructions on the bottle, putting it into damp hair and blow drying it with my head upside down. I can't say that I really noticed a lot of lift or thickening from the spray. I have had butter results with dry shampoo and teasing powders to get height at the crown."
