What is an undertone?
An undertone is the color beneath the surface of your skin, which never changes (even with a tan). There are three types of undertones:
Pink/Cool
I see red or pink undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin burns easily, but barely tans.
My skin looks better in silver jewelry than gold.
Neutral
I see both pink and yellow undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin sometimes burns and sometimes tans.
My skin looks good in both gold and silver jewelry.
Yellow/Warm
I see yellow or golden undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin rarely burns, but tans easily.
My skin looks better in gold jewelry than silver.

Usage
1. Prepare: After showering, keep skin damp.
The Body Plane works best when skin is wet, warm, and primed with body oil. It can be used in the shower or bath or just afterwards if the body is not towel dried.
2. Apply Oil: Massage a small amount onto the skin.
Working from the toes up and one limb at a time, apply a single pump of your favorite Esker Body Oil, lightly spread the oil across the skin.
3. Exfoliate: Hold the Body Plane at a 45° angle and glide over skin.
Use long, gentle strokes with the Body Plane working the energy up towards the heart.
4. Cleanse: Wipe the tool between strokes to remove excess dirt and oil from the Body Plane.
5. Repeat: Continue for each body area as desired.
We recommend stronger pressure and longer strokes on the arms and legs and shorter, gentler strokes on the chest, torso, and neck.
Daily Body Plane Ritual:
After your shower or bath, apply your favorite Esker Body Oil and plane the skin using long, gentle strokes and medium pressure, focusing the most attention on the driest spots.
Weekly Body Plane Ritual:
Following a deeply relaxing bath or shower, apply 2-3 pumps of your favorite Esker Body Oil, one limb at at time. Use long, gentle strokes and medium pressure. Spend extra time on each body part, with a deep appreciation for the skin you are in.
Pro-tip

Esker was founded on the belief that bathing is essential, not indulgent. Informed by ancient bathing traditions and modern aromatherapy, the brand creates body-care essentials designed to support the nervous system through heat, water, minerals, and scent. Formulas rely on plant-based ingredients and pure essential oils, turning the bathroom into a space for daily regulation and restoration. Products are paired with tools crafted from enduring materials such as wood, stone, and metal, chosen for both function and longevity. Esker’s approach is intentionally simple and ingredient-forward, emphasizing fewer products used with greater intention. The result is ritual made practical, designed to fit into real life rather than reserved for spa settings or special occasions.
