What is an undertone?

An undertone is the color beneath the surface of your skin, which never changes (even with a tan). There are three types of undertones:

Pink/Cool

I see red or pink undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin burns easily, but barely tans.
My skin looks better in silver jewelry than gold.

Neutral

I see both pink and yellow undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin sometimes burns and sometimes tans.
My skin looks good in both gold and silver jewelry.

Yellow/Warm

I see yellow or golden undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin rarely burns, but tans easily.

Usage

Apply 6-8 drops to clean skin in the evening. Let it sink in and follow with Universal Face Oil. Use 2-3 nights a week to start and build to nightly use. Only use at night, do not use if pregnant or breastfeeding and always wear sunscreen during the day.

"I tend to have dry, sensitive skin and this oil, while gorgeous and luxurious, was too strong for me. After a few weeks of applying, the skin around my mouth became dry and the fine lines looked more pronounced. Luckily, this was only temporary, and my skin went back to normal when I stopped and used barrier-repairing products. I would add that I otherwise love Mara products and use their moisturizer daily"

"It was ok. I didn’t notice any impact to fine lines, texture, etc. but I only had a trial size, so didn’t have enough to really make a difference. That said, didn’t like the way it felt on application, and it smelled like rancid fats. I don’t think it actually was rancid, but that doesn’t say much for the natural scent. There are other retinol oils and serums I would buy again, whereas this one…I probably wouldn’t even if it was equally effective in the long term. Disappointed and surprised, especially after LOVING their universal oil! Couldn’t speak highly enough about that product!"
