What is an undertone?

An undertone is the color beneath the surface of your skin, which never changes (even with a tan). There are three types of undertones:

Pink/Cool

I see red or pink undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin burns easily, but barely tans.
My skin looks better in silver jewelry than gold.

Neutral

I see both pink and yellow undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin sometimes burns and sometimes tans.
My skin looks good in both gold and silver jewelry.

Yellow/Warm

I see yellow or golden undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin rarely burns, but tans easily.
My skin looks better in gold jewelry than silver.

Usage

Massage 2 pumps of Illuminating Exfoliant onto damp skin for 20 seconds before rinsing thoroughly with lukewarm water.

Use 2-3 times a week in the evening.

Pro-tip

Emma's Tip: To supercharge your exfoliation, you can use your Illuminating Exfoliant as a mask. Apply it to dry skin and leave it on for 5-10 minutes to allow the AHAs and BHAs to deeply exfoliate. I then add a little water and massage the formulation into my face and neck for 1 minute before rinsing.

FAVORITE EXFOLIANT ON THE WHOLE PLANET

"The first night I tried this, I ran out of the bathroom screaming because my face lit up like a lightbulb. Boyfriend agreed. The clock turned back and when I looked in the mirror, my 31 year-old face looked like a baby's newborn bottom. It's quite a steal at this price considering it's a humongous bottle that lasts 1-2 years. I've tried other luxury chemical/physical exfoliants out there (double the price FYI) but they are either too irritating for my slightly sensitive skin, or the effects just aren't impressive enough. Plus they don't smell nearly as good as the refreshing floral scent of this one (similar to the Day Creme). I'm usually very greedy when it comes to trying out new skincare, but after 2 years of trying different exfoliants beyond this product, they just can't compete with Emma Lewisham. I rest my case and give up - sticking with this in the future because it's perfect in every way :)"
