An undertone is the color beneath the surface of your skin, which never changes (even with a tan). There are three types of undertones:

Pink/Cool

I see red or pink undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin burns easily, but barely tans.
My skin looks better in silver jewelry than gold.

Neutral

I see both pink and yellow undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin sometimes burns and sometimes tans.
My skin looks good in both gold and silver jewelry.

Yellow/Warm

I see yellow or golden undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin rarely burns, but tans easily.
My skin looks better in gold jewelry than silver.

Usage

- Start with clean, dry lashes.
- Wipe excess product from the brush to prevent clumping.
- Apply from root to tip using a gentle zigzag motion to separate and coat each lash.
- Build additional coats for more volume and length.
- Remove at the end of the day with a gentle makeup remover.

Pro-tip

Deliberately formulated with a drier texture than more common "wet" mascaras, this formula is built from a blend of natural waxes rather than heavy oils or synthetic film-formers. That's what makes it buildable, keeping lashes soft and feathery without clumping into spider-leg lashes.

Great definition, flakes a bit

"I really like this Minori Mother of Lashes brown mascara. The look is exactly what I want. . . natural, defined, not clumpy at all. The color matches my lashes pretty perfectly and the look is subtle. It didn't hold the curl in the lashes for very long, but I've rarely used mascaras that did. My only real complaint is slight flaking after several hours of wear, but again, I've rarely used one that didn't unless it was waterproof. It did better than many others I have used in the flaking department. Overall, I think this is a great, high quality mascara for a subtle, natural look, though layers can be used to get a more pronounced look."

"I love the applicator for this product. The spikes are pretty firm so it brushes out each lash and helps them not clump. Simple mascara option

"This mascara comes in a small box with no extra plastic packaging. It's easy to open and smoothly closes. I've used it several times now. I had some issues with clumps forming at first, but they were small and easily fixed. I thought it lengthened my lashes moderately. It has more of a matte finish as opposed to some mascaras that are very shiny once applied. The mascara itself is smooth and easy to apply with the provided brush. It did not feeling heavy. I've used some mascaras in the past where they feel very heavy on my lashes, but I didn't have that issue with this one. I like that it's a vegan cruelty-free product, but the price feels a little high for what it is."

Smudged and didn't add much of anything to the lashes

"The mascara was just ok. It did provide the separation and definition it stated but that was about it. Added two coats and barely lengthened. Didn't do much for my upper lashes which aren't short, in fact it made them look a lot shorter and less impactful. Throughout the day, the mascara definitely started to flake around hour 5 with no agitation which was unfortunate. I think this is best suited for lower lashes to add the nice definition there. You do run the risk of having this flake off and smudge, creating darker mascara circles under the eye."

No clumps!

"I actually really like this one. I got the black and it's exactly what I was hoping for - more length and definition than big, heavy volume. The wand is super slim, so it grabs even the tiny lashes and separates everything without clumping (huge plus for me). It gives a clean, polished look. . . not dramatic in a thick, fluffy way, but more of that "your lashes but better" vibe. I've been reaching for it daily as I don't wear a lot of makeup anymore and prefer a more natural but polished look. If you're looking for bold, super volumized lashes, this probably isn't it. But if you like a natural, defined lash that doesn't smudge or clump, it's really good."
