In 1792 Louis Marie Aubert du Petit Thouars was a pioneer in French botanical history. During the French revolution, he was exiled to Madagascar, La Reunion and the Mauritius islands where he discovered a vast array of plant specimens. Ten years later and bearing a collection of over 2000 plants, Louis Marie was finally able to return to France where he was elected a member of the prestigious Académie des Sciences.

"Non-irritating oil, absorbed quickly into skin. Good sillage initially - scent on my forearm was detectable even under my cardigan. Decent staying power- could smell this on my skin about 3 hours after application but not much past 5+ hours. To my nose this is a ‘skin scent,’ reminiscent of Phlur’s Missing Person. The lemon and coconut water are only remotely detectable. This is not a tropical or beachy scent but rather herbal instead of floral, cozy instead of refreshing."
