"This BHA won't dry you out and has far better ingredients (aka stuff that won't poison you) than generic options. That said, there's 2 things to consider: 1) it does feel more harsh than some other (also nontoxic) versions so it might not be the best choice for people with sensitivity 2) it leaves a bit of a film which makes me feel like serums aren't sinking in as much as I'd like. Verdict: buy this if you need BHA and have more normal skin. But consider other nontoxic versions if you have highly sensitive skin or mature skin that relies on intensive serums."

"I haven't used BHAs in a long time, because I have dry, sensitive skin. But a change in medications shifted my hormones and my skin. This toner is excellent, because it does the oil-soluble exfoliation work I need without drying out my skin. I use it ahead of my period and during, and it really helps with acne and inflammation. That said, the cap never seems to close completely, like it can't quite screw on securely, so it is always a spill risk to pick it up by the cap."
