What is an undertone?

An undertone is the color beneath the surface of your skin, which never changes (even with a tan). There are three types of undertones:

Pink/Cool

I see red or pink undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin burns easily, but barely tans.
My skin looks better in silver jewelry than gold.

Neutral

I see both pink and yellow undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin sometimes burns and sometimes tans.
My skin looks good in both gold and silver jewelry.

Yellow/Warm

I see yellow or golden undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin rarely burns, but tans easily.
My skin looks better in gold jewelry than silver.

Usage

Use large end to highlight high points of face (like cheekbones, brow bones, and bridge of nose). You can also sculpt underneath cheekbones to create depth.

"I was looking for a brush to use to apply both my tinted moisturizer/sunscreen (daytime) and slightly heavier foundation (nighttime), and know next to nothing about which brushes are used for what. Initially I was resistant to the double ended feature because I find it difficult to store while respecting both brush heads, but the advisor on duty sang this brush's praises. I am glad I tried it. It doesn't do more than it's supposed to, but it helps me achieve a dewier finish when applying my products. I've grown to love the smaller end, especially as it helps me to use less concealer. Would recommend!"

"This brush has now become one of my favorite brushes to use! It picks up product well and blends everything out smoothly! I love that it has two sides that can be used for two different purposes. I've tested the smaller side of the brush for both blending out under-eye concealer and contouring smaller areas, such as the nose or upper forehead. Definitely an essential brush in my routine!!"
