What is an undertone?

An undertone is the color beneath the surface of your skin, which never changes (even with a tan). There are three types of undertones:

Pink/Cool

I see red or pink undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin burns easily, but barely tans.
My skin looks better in silver jewelry than gold.

Neutral

I see both pink and yellow undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin sometimes burns and sometimes tans.
My skin looks good in both gold and silver jewelry.

Yellow/Warm

I see yellow or golden undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin rarely burns, but tans easily.
My skin looks better in gold jewelry than silver.

Using a gentle sweeping motion, work close to the skin to smooth on and blend Vital Skin Foundation Stick (sold separately).
Ideal for even, quick applications of cream makeup.

not worth the money for me

"Let me start by saying I LOVE Westman Atelier products. Some of the best makeup I have ever used, and I'm a loyal fan. This brush however does nothing for me. It seems to take forever in spreading the Vital Skin foundation. I sometimes wet it with a facial spray which helps, but it just doesn't blend seamlessly and easily like a beauty sponge. I even prefer my hands to this brush. Unfortunately, it's an 80$ investment I never reach for. I sometimes use it to blend under eye concealer, but not often."

Lux way to apply foundation

"I am really liking this brush! I got it to replace my Juice Beauty brush, and am using it with the Exa foundation. It was a bit prickly at first but after some use seems to have settled down. The foundation goes on smoothly and blends well. I was worried it was absorbing more foundation than putting on my skin, but again, after some use it’s working well!"
