Herbivore Botanicals Lapis Facial Oil

This Product Is: a quick absorbing facial oil

Good for: combination, oily, and blemish-prone skin.

Why We Love It: Herbivore Botanicals Lapis Oil is the perfect elixir for oily skin that needs a healing touch. It helps reduce the appearance of blemishes and works to improve skin tone, leaving it soft and supple.

- Blue Tansy: high in azulene, it works to clarify complexion.
- Jojoba Oil: has amazing moisturizing capabilities due to being so similar in structure to our skin's own natural sebum; it is easily absorbed and also helps other oils to absorb more deeply into the skin.
- Squalane: our squalane is derived from olives. Vegetable-derived squalane has excellent emollient properties and keeps moisture in the skin.
- Jasmine Sambac Oil: works to increase the skin's moisture content.

Radical Fragrance Transparency. This means the fragrance ingredients are fully disclosed to you (not hidden behind the word "fragrance", which is the norm). All ingredients are included in the section above.

This fragrance is comprised of (Click on a fragrance category for more info):

Essential Oils

x

Essential Oils

Authentic essential oils are physically extracted by steam or expression (cold pressing) of the skin of the fruit. Essential oils have not been chemically altered (via reaction, solvent extraction) from their natural state.

Certified Organic Fragrance

x

Certified Organic Fragrance

A blend of essential oils (see above) derived from plants that are grown in accordance with the USDA National Organic Program.

Natural Fragrance

x

Natural Fragrance

Natural fragrances are mixtures of aromatic raw materials. As opposed to a whole essential oil found in a plant, these chemicals are physically isolated from natural compounds, then blended together to create a scent. If only natural isolates are used, companies can declare the scent “natural.”

Naturally-Derived Fragrance

x

Naturally-Derived Fragrance

Fragrance ingredients that have been extracted using solvents (alcohol, petrochemicals, vegetable oils), or extracted by fermentation, or ingredients which may have a natural component but have been significantly processed.

Synthetic Fragrance

x

Unfragranced/Unscented

Ingredients which are new molecules, made in a laboratory. The majority of synthetic constituent ingredients are from petroleum byproducts. Synthetic “nature-identical” ingredients fall into this category as well. Credo allows synthetic fragrances as long as there are no Dirty List components.

What's Behind "Fragrance"?

US law does not require that companies be transparent about the ingredients in fragrance/parfum. Credo believes in your right-to-know. We require all brands to categorize the fragrance in each product (see chart above), and encourage brands to fully disclose all scent ingredients.

All products are cruelty-free and formulated without ingredients on our The Dirty List™️. At Credo, "clean" goes even deeper. Learn more.
