Frequently Asked Questions
-
How do clean face treatment products differ from natural or organic options?
Clean face treatment products, just like all of the products we carry at Credo Beauty, adhere to The Credo Clean Standard™. This means they avoid over 2700 ingredients that are potentially harmful to your health or the planet. We have put this strict, industry-leading standard in place as there is no legal definition or certification process for 'clean' products. Natural face treatment products also don't have a legal definition, but generally contain natural or naturally-derived ingredients. Organic face treatment products, on the other hand, must meet strict standards as defined by the USDA Organic program. -
How do clean face treatment products differ from regular products?
At Credo Beauty, we are proud of our industry-leading standards and thorough vetting process, which ensure that all the clean products we offer are effective and safer for both you and the environment. Our products meet strict clean standards, avoiding any ingredients on our Dirty List. With additional sustainability and packaging requirements in place, our mission is to also help lessen the environmental burden of consumer products. -
What are the benefits of using clean face treatment products?
The clean face treatments we offer at Credo Beauty can help improve skin texture, combat dull skin, reduce inflammation, soothe and prevent irritation, and even help prevent premature aging, but the benefits don’t stop there. Using clean products from us helps to ensure the products you use are safer and also more sustainable – looking after both your skin and the environment. -
Can clean face treatment products be used for all skin types?
Different skin types may react differently to clean facial treatment products, so we stock clean face treatments that cater to a variety of different skin types. If you have dry skin, you may want to opt for products containing hyaluronic acid, as this will help to provide your skin with the hydration it needs. For acne prone skin, you should seek out products that have salicylic acid, as this helps unclog pores and prevent future breakouts. Products with oil-absorbing bentonite and kaolin clays are suitable for those with oily skin, as they help to prevent excess oil production. -
Can clean face treatment products be used along with other skin care products?
Yes, clean face treatment products can be used alongside other skin care products to enhance your skin care routine. They can be used to complement other clean skin care products, but they can also be used alongside traditional skin care products. You can incorporate clean face products into your skin care routine by using them as a base layer before applying other products, or you can alternate between your clean and traditional face treatment products to tailor your skin care routine to your unique skin needs. -
Are there any specific ingredients to avoid in clean face treatment products?
You should always try to avoid harmful ingredients such as parabens and sulfates. These are all commonly found in traditional skin care products, and they can have a variety of negative side effects when applied to the skin, such as irritation, redness, inflammation, and more. Our clean face treatments not only exclude these ingredients, but also factor out a whole host of other questionable ingredients. We’ve done the hard work for you, so you don’t have to worry about what you’re putting on your skin when you shop with us. -
How often should clean face treatment products be used?
It’s recommended to consistently use a clean facial cleanser if you want to experience optimal results. Generally, you should use a facial cleanser twice a day and moisturizers once a day, but facial treatments and masks can be used slightly less. You should always read the directions on the label of facial products to ensure correct usage, but you can expect to be using your facial treatments daily to a few times a week, and exfoliating or hydrating masks once or twice a week for an extra boost, depending on your skin’s needs. -
Are there any additional steps to take when using clean face treatment products?
It’s important to have a proper skin care routine that consists of cleansing and moisturizing as well as using facial treatment products if you want your skin to receive the maximum benefits from your skin care routine. Using an exfoliation mask once or twice a week will also complement your facial treatments, as they help to remove dead skin cells and promote skin cell turnover, but ensure that you don’t over-exfoliate as this can irritate the skin. Lastly, if you’re using facial oils, you should carry out a patch test before using them for the first time to see how your skin reacts and ensure irritation doesn’t occur.
