How does clean refillable makeup compare to natural or organic options?
Refillable makeup options are becoming more and more popular among environmentally-conscious consumers. They provide a sustainable alternative to traditional single-use packaging, reducing the amount of waste produced by the beauty industry. While organic makeup and ingredients must adhere to strict standards set by the USDA Organic program, natural options do not have a clear legal definition and can contain natural or naturally-derived ingredients. There is also no set legal standard for what makes a refillable product 'clean' in the beauty industry. That's why, at Credo Beauty, we have taken matters into our own hands and created The Credo Clean Standard™, which ensures that all of our products are free from over 2700 potentially harmful ingredients. -
What sets clean refillable makeup apart from regular products?
Unlike conventional products, our formulas are carefully curated to avoid any ingredients listed on our Dirty List, ensuring they are safe for your skin and the environment. Additionally, clean refillable makeup emphasizes environmental sustainability through the use of refillable containers, reducing waste and the overall environmental footprint of the industry. By choosing clean refillable makeup, you are not only taking care of your skin but also contributing to greener and more sustainable practices. -
Are clean refillable makeup products as effective as traditional ones?
Yes - clean refillable skin care products are just as effective and results-driven as traditional products. They prioritize product efficacy and performance as well as sustainability, so you can enjoy an effective clean beauty routine while opting for eco-friendly products. -
How do I properly refill clean makeup products?
Before refilling your makeup products, you should always gather your supplies and wash your hands. You’ll need your refillable container, the new refill, and disinfectant wipes. To find out what refill products are compatible with your refillable makeup container, you can check product information and select a product from the same line or take a look at brand websites for more information. Once you’re ready to do the refill, simply locate the release mechanism on your refillable container, which is usually a clasp, twist, or magnet mechanism, and remove your used refill from the container using a tissue to avoid contamination. Clean the container with a disinfectant wipe and let your container dry before popping in your new refill. When you place your new refill into the container you should hear a click or snap, which signals your new refill is securely in place. -
How can I recycle empty refillable makeup containers?
The first step to take when recycling empty refillable makeup containers is to check the material they’re made from. Many refillable makeup containers are made from aluminum or plastic, which can both be recycled, but you may still need to follow local guidelines. You can also look for recycling symbols on the container itself for further information. Some clean beauty brands may also have programs where you can return your empty refillable makeup container to them, as they may partner with recycling facilities to ensure their containers are recycled properly.
