What is an undertone?

An undertone is the color beneath the surface of your skin, which never changes (even with a tan). There are three types of undertones:

Pink/Cool

I see red or pink undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin burns easily, but barely tans.
My skin looks better in silver jewelry than gold.

Neutral

I see both pink and yellow undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin sometimes burns and sometimes tans.
My skin looks good in both gold and silver jewelry.

Yellow/Warm

I see yellow or golden undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin rarely burns, but tans easily.
My skin looks better in gold jewelry than silver.

Usage


Apply after cleansing and 15 minutes before heading outside
With a circular motion gently dab fore finger onto the balm
Apply the balm to face with your forefinger, gently massaging it into the skin in a circular motion until all product is absorbed.
Apply to lips using forefinger, massaging it in before using both lips to fully spread and absorb the velvety balm.
Reapply at least every two hours while outside or as desired

Out face and lip protector is also the perfect protecting balm for hands - particularly when driving in the sun.

"I like this balm texture rather than some runny sunscreen. . . and it does blend in nicely to avoid white cast. Smell isn't super strong but also would be nice if it was something pleasant like lavender or something. But I can't imagine this tiny tin will last me more than a few weeks and for the price, there are more economical options. The tin is also kind of annoying, a twist jar would be preferred. Might be a good option for travel but not if you're using sunscreen multiple times a day everyday."

Best face spf ever!

"I’ve been using the sun balm for a few weeks now and can confirm it’s the best I’ve ever used. I am very picky about my face spf and have very sensitive skin so believe me when I say this stuff is fantastic. My skin has actually improved since using the sun balm. It’s less red and dry, and I’ve had far fewer breakouts. This stuff goes on smooth without pilling, doesn’t sting my eyes, and doesn’t leave a white cast. It works great under makeup, too. I immediately ordered a second tin when I got the Memorial Day sale email. I love the packaging because it’s so travel friendly. Thank you Utu for this awesome product! My skin has never looked better!"

The best SPF is the one you have on you!

"I find that my lips have a tendency to get more sun than the rest of my face because the lips are typically not getting covered with you all over face SPF, but with this that is no longer a problem. The tin is the perfect size to keep in your pocket or bag to reapply though out the day. I love how moisturizing the balm is. I also enjoy using it across the bridge of my nose and cheeks on windy days to prevent wind chap. I spend a lot of time outside on a daily basis, so this goes EVERYWHERE with me!"
