What is an undertone?

An undertone is the color beneath the surface of your skin, which never changes (even with a tan). There are three types of undertones:

Pink/Cool

I see red or pink undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin burns easily, but barely tans.
My skin looks better in silver jewelry than gold.

Neutral

I see both pink and yellow undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin sometimes burns and sometimes tans.
My skin looks good in both gold and silver jewelry.

Yellow/Warm

I see yellow or golden undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin rarely burns, but tans easily.
My skin looks better in gold jewelry than silver.

Usage

Gently massage a liberal amount of exfoliating scrub onto damp skin in circular motions. Rinse thoroughly with Pure Start, Gentle Detoxifying Cleanser, to reveal fresh and radiant skin. For optimal results, use daily.

Great product, with caveats

"I stopped doing peels after discovering this product. Peels felt like a waste of money with pointless irritation from flaking skin when this provides the same visible results as a peel: smooth skin and a beautiful glow. About a quarter size is all you need, and the product will last you a months and months with weekly use. However, if you have sensitive skin or use a retinol, this may feel a bit aggressive. I had no problem with this until I added a retinol to my routine. I use this on the days I don't apply retinol, but it feels irritating now. I've switched to Goopglow Microderm which is a smaller grain and uses a chemical exfoliant, which has not irritated my skin so far (but it's way more expensive, unfortunately)."

"I have used several exfoliators and some are too rough and some are too soft. . . this one I love. It is a little on the rougher side but not to the point it feels damaging. I put just a little in with my cleanser to smooth the application and it's great. I use it 2-3x a week and think it makes a notable difference when I do!"

Very harsh cleaner not for sensitive skin

"Not for sensitive skin. This is very abrasive. Was recommended to me at the credo store. Does not come in a trial size so I purchased the smallest option and it was pricey. Caused skin damage, redness, irritation and even a breakout and I have mature skin so never breakout now. Really terrible recommendation. Very hard to use as super grainy texture makes it difficult to rub on your face and not be harsh. Don’t buy if sensitive or aging skin will cause damage. You need very little so the product will last forever but I would strongly recommend not buying this."

How often should this be used, and roughly how long does a container last (either size)?
Hi There, Thank you for your question. This depends on the sensitivity of your skin. It can be used daily but we recommend once a week to start off with. From there you can determine the need for increased exfoliation. The frequency at which you exfoliate will determine the longevity of the product. It is recommended to use this product within 6 months of opening. -Credo Client Services
