In 1792 Louis Marie Aubert du Petit Thouars was a pioneer in French botanical history. During the French revolution, he was exiled to Madagascar, La Reunion and the Mauritius islands where he discovered a vast array of plant specimens. Ten years later and bearing a collection of over 2000 plants, Louis Marie was finally able to return to France where he was elected a member of the prestigious Académie des Sciences.

Love the scent!

"As a perfume connoisseur, I love trying new perfumes and this one was a complete shocker for me! One of the keynotes is coconut and that scent can be hit or miss for me. The other key notes are tuscan fig and amber. This is the perfect perfume for springtime and it smells so fresh! This scent lasts hours especially if you spray it where you put lotion(the lotion makes the perfume last even longer)! Everytime I have worn this out, I have received compliments about how it smells so good! I love how Maison Louis Marie has positive environmental practices, it is something I look into when I try new brands. The packaging of the perfume is lovely, I love how it is glass. I recommend this perfume for anyone who loves spring scents and anything coconut!"

Smells wonderful!

"It’s always fun when a brand you like releases a new perfume! I also enjoy how they not only give us wonderful scent notes, but also an idea of what this perfume was created for. For example, it states it’s daydreaming and travel which makes it perfect for me! The key notes for this perfume include Coconut, fig, and amber. I like how all of these scents mix together to create something new. I was a little worried about the top note being coconut. I usually associate coconut with the summer and not spring. However, the mixture of the coconut, fig, and amber, together is quite alluring!The glass bottle is good and the packaging is quite nice. I like the box that the perfume comes in. It feels quite sturdy! Overall, this is another great perfume!"

Tropical vacation

"The first thoughts that came to my mind when smelling this EDP were clean air, nature, and tropical vacation. This scent falls into the unisex category, and it can be layered with other perfumes or lotions. This will actually help extend the longevity of the scent. I thought I knew what to expect since I have tried other clean fragrances before, but this one provided me with a unique sensory experience. It is an evolving fragrance. The first note I experienced when wearing N. 13 was a hint of coconut. Then, it eventually transformed into a musky, more masculine scent. Even though I enjoyed the pleasant smell of Nouvelle Vague, I am giving it 4 stars because the aroma was not long-lasting. Even after moisturizing my skin, it wore off rather quickly."

Sunshine in a bottle, but sophisticated

"This fragrance is so complex and layered. It’s not one where you can pinpoint one or two specific notes, but rather it invokes a feeling. It is sunshine in a bottle, but in a very sophisticated way. It is just slightly fruity, not in a sweet artifical sugar way, but in a sun soaked, warm way. The notes mention florals and citrus, but I personally don’t pick up on either of those. This is a great scent for summer, but can really be worn year-round as it’s warm, inviting, and comforting. Not very many fragrances can be safe blind buys, but this one can be for those reasons. The longevity is great, one or two spritz’s will last several hours. I love the minimalist design of the bottle and label as well. It looks beautiful front and center on my vanity!"

Beautifully elegant and fresh

"This fragrance is among the most unique I’ve ever tried, it’s very fresh and airy, yet has a bit of earthiness that adds a lovely level of complexity to the scent. It feels like a beautiful warm summer day on a European beach and would be especially perfect for a spring and summer seasons. I love its clean formation and the elegant minimalistic packaging that adds a touch of luxury to the entire experience. This fragrance doesn’t last particularly long on my skin, but it’s still pretty impressive for a clean fragrance and I really enjoy how it evolves from the initial spray to the drydown. While this was my very first experience with kindly gifted Maison Louis Marie fragrances, I am very much looking forward to exploring their other creations."

Perfect Scent for a Tropical Vacation

"I have been slowly growing my perfume collection over the past few months and am excited to add No. 13 - Nouvelle Vague to my collection. This soft fragrance smells like the transition from spring to summer. I like that this scent is complex - it is sweet and flirty, but also mature and sexy. Notes such as amber give it a warm, seductive nature, while notes such as lemon and coconut waters give it a liveliness. I have noticed the scent grows stronger and the amber notes grow more intense upon drying. This gives the scent a really interesting depth and great longevity. Honestly, this would not replace my signature everyday scents, but I would definitely use it for a special occasion or tropical vacation. I would recommend giving this scent a try!"

Amazing

"This perfume quickly became my new favorite!! It smells so simple but also so clean. I love the middle notes of fig in this perfume. It’s easily the perfume I reach for every day and I will absolutely purchase more of this when I run out. The scent is so balanced and warm and I love that you can layer this perfume with others to create a more complex scent. All of my friends have complimented this perfume whenever I wear it and I know it would make an amazing gift since it also comes in such a beautiful box! The glass bottle is stunning and looks beautiful on my perfume shelf. Im so glad I tried this perfume and I can’t wait to continue using it in the future and discovering more scents to layyer with this one! Im so excited about this perfume!"
