What is an undertone?

An undertone is the color beneath the surface of your skin, which never changes (even with a tan). There are three types of undertones:

Pink/Cool

I see red or pink undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin burns easily, but barely tans.
My skin looks better in silver jewelry than gold.

Neutral

I see both pink and yellow undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin sometimes burns and sometimes tans.
My skin looks good in both gold and silver jewelry.

Yellow/Warm

I see yellow or golden undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin rarely burns, but tans easily.
My skin looks better in gold jewelry than silver.

Usage

For light/sheer coverage (to even out redness discoloration): Apply with your fingertips, like a moisturizer, and blend out.
For medium/buildable coverage (to cover blemishes/discoloration): Tap on with a dampened beauty sponge, foundation or stippling brush. Tap to layer for higher coverage.

"Smooth application, does not streak. I usually do not wear foundation so I could tell something was on my face, but got used to it after a while. Love the options for so many shades. "I was using the hourglass skin tint & concealer, but I’ve had to switch to clean makeup. I really like this finish. It has the light (but not too light) coverage I’m looking for in a skin tint. I can thin it out even more with my own face cream if I would like. It pairs well with the concealer and looks like skin. I have light/medium skin with pinkish neutral undertones and I use the color Montana after testing different shades."
