What is an undertone?

An undertone is the color beneath the surface of your skin, which never changes (even with a tan). There are three types of undertones:

Pink/Cool

I see red or pink undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin burns easily, but barely tans.
My skin looks better in silver jewelry than gold.

Neutral

I see both pink and yellow undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin sometimes burns and sometimes tans.
My skin looks good in both gold and silver jewelry.

Yellow/Warm

I see yellow or golden undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin rarely burns, but tans easily.
My skin looks better in gold jewelry than silver.

"I have used this bronzer as a luminous eyeshadow for years. I recently needed to repurchase and looked everywhere for a powder shadow that matched the tones of this bronzer and could not find anything remotely close. So I repurchased this bronzer. I have neutral-cool olive skin and the red, copper and gold tones in this medium-cool brown base are just absolutely gorgeous and super flattering. I always get compliments when I wear this as a shadow with a dark chocolate smudged liner and brown mascara. Trust me, as an eyeshadow on the lids it is stunning!"

"This cream bronzer is great for Summer. It’s light and easy to blend. The coverage is buildable and the shade is a cool tone, so it acts like a bronzer and contour shade for me. A little goes a long way and it has a very subtle iridescence to it. I love that it’s clean and good for my skin too. It’s become a staple in my makeup bag for sure!"

"The color of this cream bronzer is lovely; however, the consistency is much too “slippery” for my combination skin. Despite following RM’s guide for application, there was absolutely no staying power for me. My skin ate the product, for which I had saved and used my points. I lasted on my skin less than one hour. This is the first disappointing purchase I have had with RMS beauty."
