What is an undertone?

An undertone is the color beneath the surface of your skin, which never changes (even with a tan). There are three types of undertones:

Pink/Cool

I see red or pink undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin burns easily, but barely tans.
My skin looks better in silver jewelry than gold.

Neutral

I see both pink and yellow undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin sometimes burns and sometimes tans.
My skin looks good in both gold and silver jewelry.

Yellow/Warm

I see yellow or golden undertones around the perimeter of my face and neck.
My skin rarely burns, but tans easily.
My skin looks better in gold jewelry than silver.

Line the edges of the lips for definition and to prevent feathering and bleeding. Color in the entire lip as desired for a long wearing, matte lip finish

"This is my favorite lip liner, which I wear every day. It is the "1990" shad, which is a cool toned neutral. It pretty much is the same color as my lips but a shade darker. Another reviewer mentioned how it has staying power, yet is still moisturizing and not dry like other lip pencils. I often have really dry, chapped lips and they have improved since I stared using this liner, which is a miracle."

"Nice formula, but I returned it -- the color looked nothing like its swatch on me. For context, I have fair, cool undertones and it looked very warm, almost orange on me. That being said, I think it could work nicely on someone with neutral to warm undertones."
