Why We Love It: SHAZ & KIKS Back to Your Roots Scalp + Hair Prewash for Thin, Flat to Normal Hair works to nourish and strengthen your entire hair ecosystem including follicles, scalp and strands. This hair treatment mask is designed to be used as step one in your hair routine, before you start your wash routine to prep and nourish hair and scalp. Made with 20 nutrient-rich Indian herbs, oils and flowers, this creamy, plant-based prewash delivers a high dose of vitamins A, B12, C, E and K, iron, magnesium and zinc to hair, supporting healthy hair growth. Additionally, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal ingredients including neem and turmeric oils help to improve scalp dryness and sensitivities, while helping to increase blood circulation in the scalp. Lastly, coconut, sesame seed and olive oils moisturize scalp and hair by penetrating strands to nourish from the inside and amla, jojoba and moringa oils coat the outside of strands to help protect them from daily stressors and damage including water, heat, and environmental factors.
Scoop quarter-sized amounts onto fingertips and massage into scalp. Depending on hair density, you should be able to cover your whole scalp with 2-5 scoops.
Using the prewash, gently massage it into your scalp using the pads of your fingertips. Make sure to press down the center of your scalp, activating marma points (energy points). This helps increase blood circulation, activate brain lymphatic drainage, and allows the nutrients in the prewash, along with oxygen, to absorb optimally into the hair follicles and scalp skin.
Work the prewash through the strands, and take 1-2 more scoops to make sure strands are evenly coated (but not drenched) with the prewash mask.
Allow the prewash to soak in for at least 10 minutes (you can leave it on as long as you want), and then start your wash routine with shampoo and conditioner. *If you have fine hair, we recommend skipping out on traditional conditioner because the prewash does have conditioning ingredients, and adding traditional conditioner may weigh it down.
