Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are RMS Beauty products cruelty-free?
Yes, RMS Beauty’s skin care and makeup product range is cruelty-free. At Credo Beauty, we exclusively partner with brands that adhere to strict animal welfare policies, ensuring no animal testing in any phase of product development. In addition to this commitment, we prioritize vegan options and either prohibit or restrict the use of certain animal-derived ingredients in our selections.
  • How can I determine if RMS Beauty products are suitable for my skin type?
RMS Beauty offers a variety of products that are suitable for a wide range of skin tones and types. From the wide range of shades available in their foundations, concealers, and more, to their skin care products formulated with nourishing, skin-loving ingredients, the brand aims to be as inclusive and versatile as possible. Plus, as their products don't contain any of the 2700+ potentially harmful ingredients banned by The Credo Clean Standard™, they're ideal for those with sensitive skin, too.
  • What are some key ingredients used in RMS Beauty products, and what benefits do they offer?
Some key ingredients used in RMS Beauty products include: - **Coconut oil**: A natural emollient that helps to hydrate the skin and lock in moisture. It also has antimicrobial properties that can help combat bacteria and soothe inflammation. - **Cocoa butter**: Rich in fatty acids and antioxidants, cocoa butter helps to nourish and protect the skin from environmental stressors - making it great for dry skin. - **Buriti oil**: This oil is rich in antioxidants and vitamin A. It helps to improve skin elasticity and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. - **Tamanu oil**: This anti-inflammatory agent is great to reduce the appearance of scars (including facial acne scars). - **Rosemary extract**: A powerful antioxidant that regulates oil balance. It's used to tackle concerns such as acne, eczema, dandruff, and dermatitis.
  • Are RMS Beauty products suitable for vegans?
While RMS cosmetics align with our strict cruelty-free and animal welfare standards, they are not 100% vegan. This means that some of their products may contain animal-derived ingredients. However, as we have strict guidelines in place to prohibit or restrict the use of certain animal-derived ingredients, you can trust that RMS Beauty products are produced ethically.
  • Do RMS Beauty products contain any harmful chemicals?
No, RMS makeup and skin care products do not contain harmful chemicals. At Credo Beauty, we enforce The Credo Clean Standard™ to ensure that all products, including those from RMS Beauty, are free from the many ingredients on our Dirty List. This includes harsh chemicals such as parabens, phthalates, and sulfates, which are often found in conventional skin care and cosmetic products.
  • How sustainable are RMS Beauty product packaging and manufacturing processes?
RMS Beauty goes above and beyond to adhere to our own, strict sustainability standards. The brand has been committed to eco-friendly packaging, using recyclable glass jars and easy-to-recycle materials like aluminum tubes. In 2022, they transitioned to 100% PCR lids for many products and incorporated PCR materials wherever possible. Additionally, their unit cartons are made from at least 80% post-consumer recycled mohawk paper, and use vegetable ink for printing. Plus, they've introduced refillable packaging and continue to expand this initiative to reduce plastic waste and support this important aspect of the clean beauty movement.
